Newent Christmas Tree Festival: BBC Radio’s Report

The celebrated Newent Christmas Tree Festival will again be taking place at St. Mary’s Church in Newent. The Christmas trees will be on display on Saturday 30th November, between 10am and 6pm and again on Saturday 7th December. With over 50 trees on display it’s well worth a visit.

Canal Weekend

Seventeen Scouts and Cub Scouts along with seven leaders enjoyed an adventurous weekend on the Grand Union and the Oxford Canals.  Working together the Scouts and Cubs took turns to navigate two narrow boats, Guinevere and Lancelot, as well as operating a total of 25 locks during their journey.

Beavers Get A Check Up At Local Vets

22 of our Beaver Scouts enjoyed a fascinating visit to Millpark Vets in Newent. The Beavers got to look around a treatment room, find out all about the varied work of a vet and the equipment used in helping animals get well. Luckily after being weighed and checking each others ears, our Beavers were all declared fit and allowed home again!
